The Isuzu line up is pure gold for 2003 starting with the spacious 2003 Ascender. This SUV is based on GM’s midsize SUV platform on the extended wheelbase models. This allows 7-passenger seating in the Ascender. Powered by the time tested aluminum 4.2-liter inline six-cylinder engine and 5.3L V-8 engines that are also fitted in the Trailblazer, Oldsmobile Bravada, and GMC Envoy. It generates 270 horsepower and 275 foot-pounds of torque at 3,600 rpm. The S model features the GM double-overhead-cam inline-six-cylinder engine while the LS and Limited Models offer the optional pushrod V-8. Both two- and four-wheel drive models of the SUV are offered. Four-wheel disc brakes with anti-lock braking system will be standard on all models, along with a towing capacity of 6,400 pounds. |
